珊々と空に鳴らす
ピアニスト・松井まど氏の1stアルバム『珊々と空に鳴らす』のCDジャケットをデザインしました。
尾崎喜八氏の詩集から引用された「珊々」という言葉。辞書によると、「身につけた玉などが鳴る音」、「きらきらと美しく輝くさま」を表すそうです。世界中の、今を生きるいのちだけでなく、かつて生きていたいのちの煌めきをも祝福するような音楽がつまっています。
デザインは、さまざまなかたちの枠から世界を覗くようなビジュアルに仕上げています。窓枠のようでもあり、心のかたちのようにも感じられる穴。その先には、井澤由花子氏が描くみずみずしい世界が広がっています。ジャケットの中面には、風に揺れるカーテンのような、あるいは、かすかに呼吸する生き物のような線をあしらい、気配を与えました。
制作にあたっては、環境への配慮を大切にしながら、ひとつひとつの工程を丁寧に検証し、選択しています。パッケージは紙ジャケットを採用し、外装には透け感のあるグラシン紙を使用。CDを保護する袋以外はすべて紙素材としています。グラシン紙以外はFSC森林認証紙を使用。管理や伐採が環境や地域社会に配慮して行なわれている森林のパルプが使われています。
印刷は、株式会社ジャパン・スリーブ。全てのオフセットの印刷物をNON-VOCインキで印刷しています。大気汚染を招く危険性の高い有害物質・VOC（揮発性有機化合物）を発生させる石油系溶剤をほぼ使用していないものです。印刷工場では使用電力の約20％を太陽光発電による再生可能エネルギーでまかなっています。

Sansan to Sora ni Narasu
I designed the CD jacket for pianist Mado Matsui’s first album, Sansan to Sora ni Narasu.
Sansan, a piece whose title is taken from a poem by Kihachi Ozaki. According to the dictionary, sansan is a word that describes “the sound made by jewels or ornaments as they chime” or “a state of sparkling beauty.” The music seems to hold within it a blessing—not only for all living beings in the world today, but also for the radiant lives that once were.
The visual is conceived as if you’re peering into the world through frames of various shapes ― holes that feel like window frames, or like the shape of the heart itself. Beyond them opens the fresh world depicted by Yukako Izawa. On the inside of the jacket, delicate lines are added – like a curtain swaying in the breeze, or like a living creature gently breathing – to evoke a quiet sense of life.
In the production we placed utmost importance on environmental consideration, carefully examining and selecting each step. The packaging uses a paper-jacket format, and the exterior is wrapped in translucent glassine. Except for the pouch protecting the CD, every material is paper-based. All paper other than the glassine is FSC-certified paper, using pulp from forests where the management and logging are carried out with concern for the environment and local communities.
Printing is done by Japan Sleeve Corporation. All of the offset-printed items are printed using NON-VOC ink ― a formulation that uses almost no petroleum-based solvents which might emit VOCs (volatile organic compounds) known to carry high risk of air pollution. At the printing facility, approximately 20% of the electricity used comes from renewable solar-power generation.
